Life Coaching can be effective in various situations helping a person’s career direction and development or personal fulfilment. Coaching makes NO assumptions, is NOT judgemental, and is NOT instructional.
Coaching is applied at a personal level and some common challenges and situations might be:
- Personal development to align with business goals.
- Business consulting one-to-one
- Creating possibilities
- Decision making
- Learn from the past
- Work/life balance
Coaching aims to develop NOT impose, to reflect NOT direct and to enable you (see a change) NOT train (to change) you.
It is about getting the very best out of someone to enable that person to make the decisions that will improve their life.
A coach does not go over old ground or force-feed information.
As a coach, I work with clients to help them find answers themselves.
Once motivated, the fire which is ignited by dreams fuelled by passion come from a place of persistence and perseverance. This is where you can achieve your goals.
Life coaching can help you get in touch with your dreams so that you can start making steps in changing them into reality. A life coach is there to help you appreciate what you have right now, as you take steps towards your desired change.
Hypnotherapy with the use of NLP work well together. Many people will have a broad idea of what hypnotherapy is but allow me to answer some of the questions asked frequently.
What is hypnotherapy/hypnosis?
Hypnotherapy is a natural state of focus and relaxation during which suggestions are made to create beneficial changes in ideas or behaviour. Sometimes it will feel like you are daydreaming, sometimes you may remain focused: each person is different. Most people will remember (most of) what happened during their session(s)
The subconscious mind controls the involuntary functions of the body, including habits and things that we do ‘automatically’ – it is fuelled by our emotions and imagination. It also contains memories of every single thing that has occurred to us.
In hypnosis, the mind is very receptive to new ideas and open to suggestions which encourage more balanced attitudes to reality.
Hypnotherapy is an ideal state for enhancing creativity and is also often used in sport psychology to bring the best out of athletes.
FAQ relating to hypnosis.
Hypnotherapy puts you in the driver’s seat of your mind and shows you how to work the controls allowing you to become more response-able.
NLP can be used as a therapy to heal the past and to help people change their habits. NLP is often used to create peak performance in areas of business, health, sport, education and learning. It can be used to influence most things in a person’s life.
NLP Coaching is a transformational methodology that helps you access and mobilise both your internal & external resources towards achieving a desired outcome, leading you towards achieving success. This can be reached through a process of asking specific types of questions rather than advising, instructing or teaching.
Here is a part of the basic Framework of NLP
- The mind has a structure that can be mapped. The map is not the territory. Our perception of reality is not reality itself.
- Mind and body are not separate, they are part of the one system.
- There is no such thing as failure, only feedback.
- There are no mistakes, only results.
- People are not broken – they work perfectly. They do not need to be fixed, we just need to find a solution.
- If your beliefs limit you, then change your beliefs.
- Every behaviour has a positive intention. The intention needs to be acknowledged.
- If someone else can do it, then it is possible that others can too.
- People have all the resources necessary to make any change.
- People make the best choices given the resources available to them.
What is Mindfulness? Mindfulness is the ‘awareness that emerges through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgementally to the unfolding of experience moment by moment’. By training our attention to be in the present moment we can gradually develop greater awareness of our thoughts, emotions and actions. This awareness enables us to understand and regulate our emotions, reduce ruminative and self-critical thinking and to develop a heartfelt kindness towards ourselves and others.
Mindfulness Minds offers individual 1-to-1, Parent & Child as well as group sessions in mindfulness-based practices. This is also offered to NHS, HSCP and Businesses, either as Wellness Days or Retreats.
For adults and as well as teaching mindfulness meditation there are 4 & 8 week programmes offered for stress reduction, anxiety, panic attacks, emotional trauma and pain control.
The Youth Mindfulness Program is an introduction to mindfulness for 7 – 11 year olds. Within the course, children learn to cultivate gratitude, handle difficult thoughts and emotions and finally develop kindness towards themselves and others.
This program has also been adapted into a visual format to provide learners with emotional awareness and understanding.
The core objectives of the course are to enhance the general, mental, emotional and social wellbeing of children by improving:
- Their attention
- Regulate Emotions
- Self-control
- Self-awareness
- Kindness to self
- Kindness to others
Teaching mindfulness to young people is a concrete way to water the seeds of transformation, healing and joy in their lives and within their communities.
Ann Currie Coaching also provides Mindfulness to children and young people with additional support needs.
About Me
Ann Currie
I started out in the finance world helping small businesses develop and grow, then moved on using my finance skills working with one of the UK’s leading Children’s Charities. It was only when we were on a family holiday in Kenya, we visited an Orphanage, I decided on working towards a career change. We worked with the orphanage, from the UK, for over two years helping them raise funds to build another floor to their building.
By then my mind was made up, I had decided to help individuals and work on a one-to-one basis. I initially studied Hypnotherapy, NLP and Life Coaching, then further advanced to Clinical Hypnotherapy, EFT, CBT and became a Master NLP Practitioner, together with learning newer methods such as Kinetic Shift and OldPain2Go.
Within Hypnotherapy I have separately studied Inner Child Therapy and Hypnotherapy for Cancer Patients. I am a Registered Hypnotherapist with the GHR, Great Britain and I am on the Accredited Register of CNHC, UK, recognised by the General Medical Council and as such I am bound by their strict code of ethics.
We are now seeing more children being affected by stress, bullying and mental health issues. I work with children covering these issues and I am also a qualified Youth Mindfulness Teacher for 7 – 11 year olds. Teaching mindfulness to children is a concrete way to water the seeds of transformation, skills which can take them through life to adulthood.
More adults than ever are in greater need for coping skills and my 4 or 8 week 1-to-1 or group sessions for Adults are proving successful with adults of any age.
